3 of Dubai’s Most Underrated Attractions
Dubai is known for its incredible landmarks, but beneath all of that there are some truly incredible spots that fly under the radar.
While there’s nothing wrong with spending some time at these iconic landmarks, there is more to see and do in Dubai, and if you’re not careful, you’re likely to miss them!
That’s why, today, we’re going to take a look at three often-underrated or overlooked attractions that Dubai has to offer. Whether you’re in town for a conference or planning to move to Dubai permanently (in which case you should definitely check out our guide on how to do so properly), be sure to check them out! You’ll be glad you did.
#1: “The Walk”
If you’re retail-minded, you’ve undoubtedly already planned out a trip to the wonderful Dubai Mall, but that’s not the only place where you can do some shopping!
Known colloquially as “The Walk,” the Jumeirah Beach Residence Walk is a stretch of retail shops located along the coast that allows shoppers such as yourself to do some shopping with a beautiful view, all with a fresh breeze to keep you cool!
Just remember that, as beautiful as it is, it can still get extremely hot. If you plan to do some open-air shopping, consider doing so after the sun goes down to make sure that you can enjoy yourself to the fullest.
#2: Dubai’s Miracle Garden
Whether you’re commuting to work or spending your time taking in some of the world-class restaurants, it can sometimes be easy to feel bogged down by the concrete jungle. If a trip to the beach hasn’t scratched the itch to get back to nature, consider surrounding yourself with the greenery of Dubai’s Miracle Garden.
With restaurants to dine in, beautiful attractions to explore, and more than 150 million flowers in full bloom, the Garden is the perfect way to break away from the towering skyscrapers. Just keep in mind that its doors are closed until October, so if you’re planning a trip don’t drive out there quite yet!
#3: The Wildlife Sanctuary
Whether you’re a making a day of experiencing Dubai’s nature or simply want to get away for the weekend, the Wildlife Sanctuary is the perfect way to break out of your everyday routine. This world-famous wetland reserve is home to thousands of birds, including flamingos!
While you won’t be free to roam and interact with the birds and mammals you find in the reserve, the Sanctuary is a great way to see the animals in a more natural environment than you could find almost anywhere else! The best part? It’s just a few kilometres away from downtown Dubai, so it’s an easy trip to make whether you’re going alone or with your family.
There’s so much more to Dubai than meets the eye. Behind the towering skyscrapers and impressive landmarks, there are plenty of opportunities to take in some more relaxing sights and sounds. Whether you prefer the company of plants or animals, you’ll find something to occupy your time on our list here today.
