Looking Ahead to Expo 2020 Dubai

Originally slated to be held in—you guessed it—2020, the Expo was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Thankfully, with the impacts of the virus waning and a global vaccination effort that’s progressing smoothly—particularly in the Middle East—Expo 2020 Dubai can finally be held safely from the 1st of October 2021 to the 31st of March 2022.

While we’re going to explore the newest announcements and the latest news in the months to come, today we’re simply going to take a quick look at the event from a wider perspective to refresh your memory and remind you why Expo 2020 Dubai is slated to be the premier global event of the year.

WHERE IS EXPO 2020 DUBAI BEING HELD?

Expo 2020 Dubai will be held at the Dubai Exhibition Centre. With designated parking areas, close proximity to restaurants and hotels and the rest of Dubai’s stunning attractions all just a stone’s throw away, the Expo is the perfect opportunity to plan your next trip and see all that the Emirate has to offer!

Importantly, event organisers have pulled out all of the stops to ensure high levels of accessibility and safety across the Expo site, ensuring that everyone who is interested will be able to attend and participate with complete peace of mind.

THE THEME OF EXPO 2020 DUBAI

Expo 2020 Dubai is all about bringing forward the technologies, ideas and developments that are positioned to bring about a brighter future for the world.

The Expo will focus on three core themes—Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability. With each theme occupying a different one of the core districts, each of the distinct pavilions occupied by the various countries will focus on one of these themes.

With over 190 pavilions, Expo 2020 Dubai is set to become a global hub of thought leadership and innovation that will push the conversation regarding these key themes forward.

THREE FAST FACTS ABOUT EXPO 2020 DUBAI

1: GREATER PAVILION DIVERSITY THAN EVER BEFORE

In previous World Expos, participating countries would hold their own exhibit at the various pavilions available to them. That’s not new.

What is new, however, is that Expo 2020 Dubai will be the first time that every participating country will have their own, exclusive pavilion! Enabling more immersive cultural experiences, this approach will ensure that visitors experience the greatest possible degree of diversity.

2: INCREDIBLE EXPO ENGAGEMENT

At Expo 2020 Dubai, there will be more than 200 participants between partners, countries and organisations. This incredible collection of Expo participants should result in a diverse environment that has plenty to offer to those attending!

3: CONNECTIVITY AT THE FORE

Expo 2020 Dubai is designed from the ground up to be accessible to international travellers and residents alike. With close proximity to the Al Maktoum International Airport and a dedicated metro station linking the system to the venue, everyone can easily find accommodations that will enable them to make the most of their trip.

Expo 2020 Dubai is sure to have something for everyone, and is slated to be a once in a lifetime event that you won’t want to miss! Stay tuned for more developments on the event in the months to come as we continue to bring you all of the most pertinent information surrounding the event.
